Linking a Short Code ASR with a Bulk Entitlement

When the Producer Portal is configured to support it, short code ASRs can be linked with one or more bulk entitlements.

Important • The ability to link short code ASRs with bulk entitlements is controlled by the Enable Bulk Entitlement Linking while Creating Short Code system configuration setting. Administrators can change this setting on the Trusted Storage system configuration page (System > Configure > Trusted Storage).

A bulk entitlement represents a large number of individual entitlements (for the reseller channel, for example) for a single product, each of which is expected to be resold to a different customer. The bulk entitlements can already exist or can be created now.

When linking to a bulk entitlement, you must first choose to either create a new bulk entitlement or link an existing bulk entitlement containing the product used to create the short code ASR.

Use the instructions, below, to create a bulk entitlement during the short code ASR creation process.

To create a new bulk entitlement to link with this short code ASR

Click Create a Bulk Entitlement. The Producer Portal shows controls for bulk entitlement creation.

Provide values for the following fields. Required fields are indicated on the page with a red asterisk.

Field	Description
Order ID	ID of an order, perhaps in an ERP system, on which the entitlement is based: FlexNet Operations does not validate or use the Order ID; it is included as a reference to an external order system.
Entitlement ID	The entitlement identifier uniquely identifies the bulk entitlement: Select Auto Generate to let FlexNet Operations assign an entitlement ID, or select User Supplied to enter an entitlement ID of your choice. When you generate an entitlement, you ship an entitlement ID to the customer. The ID is input to FlexNet Operations when generating or activating a license. A customer can also use the entitlement ID to log in to the FlexNet Operations Self-Service Portal.
Description	Describe the characteristics of this entitlement that make it unique.
Number of Copies	Enter the number of seats that are available per Web register key.
Sold To	Click the Search button and select the account associated with this entitlement. The Sold To account has the right to activate against this entitlement.
Ship To Email	This field contains the email address where the short code ASR for this entitlement should be sent. After the sold-to account is specified, a Search button appears next to the Ship To Email field. Click the Search button to select an email address for one of the contacts in the sold-to account. Additional email addresses may be entered in a comma-separated list that contains no spaces.
Ship To Mail	Enter the mailing address where the short code ASR for this entitlement should be sent. It may be the mailing address of one of the contacts in the account.

Click the Save button to save the bulk entitlement. It appears in the list of Associated Bulk Entitlements.

This bulk entitlement must be deployed before it can be used for short code activations. Deploy the entitlement and load Web register keys from the Entitle Customers to Licenses pages.

To delete an associated bulk entitlement, select the bulk entitlement and click the Delete button.

Click the Next button to view a summary of short code ASRs.

Linking an Existing Bulk Entitlement

Use the instructions, below, to link to an existing bulk entitlement during the short code ASR creation process.

To link this short code ASR with one or more existing bulk entitlements

Click Link a bulk entitlement. The Producer Portal shows controls for finding a bulk entitlement.

Click the Search button. The Producer Portal opens the Select Entitlement page in a popup window. Bulk entitlements containing the same product as the short code ASR appear in the new window.

On the Select Entitlements page, select bulk entitlements to link with the current short code ASR. Click one or more bulk entitlements and then click OK. The Producer Portal closes the Select Entitlements page. The selected entitlements appear in the list of Associated Bulk Entitlements.

Note • You can also remove bulk entitlements from Associated Bulk Entitlements list. To remove an associated bulk entitlement, click its check box and then click Delete.

Click the Next button to view a summary of short code ASRs. (See Viewing Short Code Summary.)

Note • After a short code ASR is linked to a bulk entitlement, it can only be used with web register keys belonging to that bulk entitlement.
